Description
Fairy robust (for passerines), ground-feeding birds of forest, woodland and suburbia. Most are accomplished singers. Most species are grey or brown in colour, often with speckled underparts.
Most thrushes look for food on the ground. They are insectivorous, but most species also eat worms, land snails, and fruit (usually berries).
They are monogamous, the nest is a bulky cup of leaves, grass, roots, moss etc. They lay clutches of 2 - 3 blueish eggs with brown, reddish and grey blotches and spots.Incubation is done by the female alone, the care of young is shared by both parents.
